What is local AI or cloud AI?

Local AI promises control; cloud promises ease and quality. The choice depends on data, hardware, maintenance, and task.

Cloud for starting and comparing quality. Local when data should not be released, the flow is repeated and someone can maintain the system.

When to look at local?

Internal documents, private tests, closed automations, technical learning or controlled costs when you already have sufficient hardware.

When to look at cloud?

Better overall quality, integrated tools, recent models, large file support and less technical maintenance.

Hidden cost

Local does not mean free: consume time, equipment, electricity and maintenance. Cloud does not mean insecure by default, but requires reading conditions and configuring privacy.

What test should I do?

Use the same document or task in both directions. Compare quality, response time, ease of repeating the flow, and maintenance effort. If Local requires hours of adjustment for an occasional task, it probably doesn't pay off.

Practical Decision

Start by using cloud with care and non-sensitive data. For repeated internal processes or sensitive data, study local or a well-configured enterprise cloud.
