Operations
What repetitive tasks are worth automating?
Before automation, understand the manual process. If you can't explain it in steps, AI will only add confusion.
- Weekly task
- Human Review
- Plan B manual
- Limited cost
Minimal Checklist
- The task is repeated every week.
- The entry and exit are clear.
- There is a person responsible for reviewing.
- There is a Plan B manual.
- The monthly cost has a limit.
What examples are reasonable?
Classify emails, prepare drafts, summarize incidents, convert notes to tasks and generate simple internal reports. These are tasks with clear input, revisable output and low risk if a person checks the result.
How to do the first test?
Choose a task, save ten real examples and measure how long it takes for one person to solve them. Afterwards use AI to prepare a first version and compare time, errors and clarity. If the review takes almost as long as doing it by hand, it still doesn't deserve automation.
What still can't be automated?
Payments, deletions, legal responses, changes in critical systems or decisions without human review. In such cases AI can help prepare information, but should not execute the final action.
Acceptable Result
A useful automation has limits on spending, record of what it does, and a mental stop button: if it fails, a person can go back to manual process without losing data or clients.
